The first time without me
The first separation is usually harder for the people than for the pets. What happens in the first hours, and how we keep you up to date.
We know that feeling
Anyone leaving their pet for the first time will usually have a few butterflies in their stomach.
Behind it is a perfectly understandable question: Will my pet cope? After 30 years, we can say that in most cases they do – and usually much faster than their owners expect. Animals live in the moment. Once they realise that they are being well cared for and that everything is fine, they usually settle in quickly.
The first few hours
At the handover, we take time to learn everything we need to know: routines, food, medication and individual quirks. What you tell us helps us shape your pet's day around their usual routine.
Then the stay begins. Dogs first join a small, calm group carefully selected according to size, temperament and compatibility. Cats move into their room and decide for themselves when they are ready to explore.
A short goodbye is often easier for your pet than a long one. Animals pick up on our emotions, so leaving calmly gives them the best possible signal.
You will hear from us
During the stay, we send you updates and photos. That way you know how your pet is doing, which can make all the difference during their first stay.
We live in the same house as your pet, so someone is on site around the clock. If veterinary care is needed, our vet can come directly to us.
Coming to see us first
If you would like to visit us beforehand, you are very welcome to do so. Simply arrange an appointment with us. Many worries disappear once you have seen the exercise areas, accommodation and the people who will be caring for your pet.
Exactly how the stay works is on the pages about Dog boarding and about Cat boarding.
